Does my Non-Logitech webcam work on Linux?
Up to Table of Contents
We don't currently have a comprehensive list of non-Logitech cameras that are supported by Linux, but there is a good chance that it will work anyway.
If you have a UVC (USB Video Class) camera, your camera should be recognized automatically by the Linux UVC driver. In case you don't know whether you have a UVC webcam, you can find out as described in: How do I find out whether my camera is a UVC device or not?
We do have a number of Non-Logitech UVC webcams in our Hardware compatibility list where you might be able to find what you're looking for.
If your camera is not a UVC device, try searching the web or start at the links on our Linux webcam drivers page to see if your camera is among the listed ones. You will most likely need the vendor and product IDs. (See also: How do I find the vendor and product ID of my camera?)
